E-GATE Conference: IT Park’s Role in Strengthening Regional Digital Connectivity

Tashkent hosted the international conference E-GATE: Enhancing Global Access through E-Commerce in Central Asia, organized by the World Bank with the support of the National Agency of Prospective Projects. Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, took part in a panel session, highlighting the role and significance of IT services export.

E-GATE is an international conference that brought together over 20 distinguished speakers from Central Asia and beyond, including representatives of government agencies, international organizations, leading e-commerce platforms, and global logistics providers. Among the notable participants were DHL, Uzum, Jumia, and Lenovo.

The main objective of the conference was the exchange of international best practices in e-commerce, the discussion of cross-border trade challenges, and the promotion of strategies to expand the engagement of small and medium-sized enterprises, youth, and women in the digital economy of the region.

Within the framework of the session titled “Advancing Functional Regionalism and Boosting Export through E-Commerce in Central Asia”, which focused on the experience of exporting goods and services from the region, Makhliyo Muksinova presented Uzbekistan’s successful model of exporting IT services to international markets. She emphasized that the IT services sector not only acts as a driver of economic growth, but also serves as a catalyst for strengthening regional cooperation.

She also elaborated on the Local to Global initiative, enables domestic startups to scale internationally, and outlined the comprehensive support mechanisms available through IT Park — including tax incentives, talent acquisition, advanced infrastructure, and international market facilitation.

IT Park’s participation in the E-GATE conference underscored Uzbekistan’s emerging role as a regional leader in digital development across the region. Makhliyo Muksinova’s contribution was a notable part of the discussion on export strategies and regional integration, further reinforcing the country’s international standing as a dynamic IT hub in Central Asia.
