IT Park and Krafton Meet to Showcase Uzbekistan’s GameDev Potential and Explore Bilateral Cooperation

A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Director of Business Development Jakhongir Radjabov, is presently conducting a business visit in Seoul. During the visit, a meeting took place with the executives from Krafton, one of the world’s leading GameDev companies.

Founded in 2007, Krafton is renowned as a premier developer and publisher of video games, including TERA, PUBG: Battlegrounds, New State Mobile, The Callisto Protocol, and Moonbreaker. With headquarters in Seoul and a workforce of 2,500 employees, Krafton holds a prominent standing in the gaming industry.

The meeting focused on the potential establishment of a Krafton office in Uzbekistan, along with the strategic advantages for the company. IT Park representatives outlined the tax incentives and support programs available to IT and GameDev companies, which allow companies to achieve substantial operational efficiencies. The establishment of a Krafton office in Uzbekistan would not only streamline access to the local market for popular games such as PUBG, but also provide financial and strategic benefits to the company.

Further discussions included the hosting of a major GameDev hackathon in Uzbekistan in the coming year. This event would attract local gamers and developers, enhance the visibility of Krafton’s products and create opportunities for talent scouting in the region.

Krafton representatives emphasized that Uzbekistan is among the most attractive markets for GameDev companies, with 60% of the population under the age of 30. This youthful demographic is not only attuned to modern gaming trends but is also well-positioned to translate their gaming interest into innovative products, making the region particularly appealing to the company.

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation’s visit to a global leader in the gaming industry underscores the nation's commitment to fostering international partnerships and positioning Uzbekistan as a promising hub for global IT and GameDev companies. Krafton’s potential presence in Uzbekistan would be a significant milestone for both parties, driving the growth of the gaming industry and unlocking new opportunities for mutual development.
