IT Park Uzbekistan and JICA Discuss Joint Initiatives to Advance BPO and IT Education in Uzbekistan’s Regions

IT Park Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to explore prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of IT services outsourcing and sustainable regional development.

The meeting was attended by Koji Yamaguchi, JICA Program Coordinator, Odilkhon Khasanov, JICA Volunteer Coordinator in Uzbekistan, and representatives from IT Park: Dildora Nasibullaeva, Head of International Relations Department; Izzat Khamidov, Head of the East Asia Export Division; and Muslikhiddin Narzullaev, Chief Manager at International Relations Department.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed opportunities for supporting business process outsourcing (BPO) centers and fostering IT education in Uzbekistan’s rural regions. IT Park presented its initiative titled “Support for BPO Centers and IT Education in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan,” aimed at enhancing digital skills among youth, creating employment opportunities, and leveraging international expertise to foster sustainable growth in the IT sector.    

JICA representatives expressed interest in volunteer engagement and indicated their readiness to explore avenues of cooperation, including the involvement of Japanese experts and volunteers in IT Park’s regional centers.

This meeting marked a continuation of ongoing dialogue between Uzbekistan and Japan. Both parties agreed to evaluate the potential for JICA grant support in implementing joint projects focused on digital development and IT education.
