Local2Global: IT Park Uzbekistan and KOICA Unveil New Opportunities

IT Park Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has successfully conducted a two-day educational workshop for local ITes-companies as part of the Local2Global program. This event, held on August 7-8, gathered IT Park Uzbekistan members focused on expanding their ITes businesses in Korea and establishing strong business relationships with Korean partners.

This workshop is part of the program “Creating the Foundation and Strengthening Capabilities for Sustainable Growth of IT Park Uzbekistan,” aimed at offering IT Park members opportunities to grow their businesses through interactions with leaders of prominent IT sectors and participation in events that foster business relationships with foreign partners.

The workshop featured insightful presentations from Korean speakers who provided participants with practical guidance on establishing partnerships and execute outsourcing projects from Korea. Additionally, networking sessions were held, allowing participants to establish business connections with Korean companies and discuss potential collaboration.

The seminar featured expert speakers from Korea, who shared their insights into the key aspects of the Korean IT landscape. Ok-Rae Chong, Chairman of KCIF, KIICI, Expert Society Co., Ltd., spoke about the intricacies of communicating with Korean IT companies and the strategic advantages of joining the Academy of Korean IT Alliance (AKITA). Yeon-Ho Park, CEO of the Research Institute of Artificial Intelligence for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, offered valuable knowledge on creating operational strategies and attracting investments for IT Park Uzbekistan member companies.

As a result of the seminar, IT Park Uzbekistan members gained a comprehensive understanding of the Korean IT market and explored the outsourcing potential in the Korean market. The program acted as a catalyst for growth, providing local enterprises with the opportunity to expand their operations in the Korean market and establish strategic partnerships.



Korean experts concluded the educational session by encouraging IT Park member companies to participate in the forthcoming Uzbek-Korean Business Forum and B2B meetings to be held during ICT Week 2024.

Interest in Uzbekistan's IT and outsourcing market is growing, particularly from Korea and other countries. The knowledge and connections acquired through this seminar will enable Uzbek ITes-companies to effectively integrate into the global market, open new opportunities for growth, and expand their operations. Strengthening ties with Korean partners will create the foundation for a robust and fruitful collaboration, contributing to the continued development of Uzbekistan's IT sector.
