The Uzbekistan Digital Technology Center was officially inaugurated in Shanghai. The opening ceremony was attended by Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The establishment of the Center marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the key priorities and long-term objectives set forth in the national strategies “Uzbekistan – 2030” and “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030.”
One of the primary goals of the Center is to attract Chinese IT companies and international grant funding to Uzbekistan, as well as to expand the export of domestic digital services and IT products.
During the opening ceremony, a presentation was delivered outlining IT Park Uzbekistan’s plans for entering the Chinese market. The presentation highlighted the available IT services, tax incentives, talent development programs, as well as the country’s ongoing digital reforms and large-scale projects.
The Center’s operations are organized in collaboration with Shanghai Oriental Credits Industrial Development Co., Ltd.
The Center is housed on the first floor of a four-story building, which is equipped with two modern conference halls, a reception area, and a specialized exhibition space dedicated to showcasing IT products developed in Uzbekistan.
Additionally, the Center will provide opportunities for Uzbek students currently studying in Shanghai to actively contribute to its operations. Their involvement will focus on preparing promotional materials to support the advancement of national ICT projects, system-wide digital solutions, and IT services offered by Uzbek companies.
Within the framework of the Digital World initiative, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Technologies, citizens who voluntarily engage in the Center’s activities will have the opportunity to obtain the status of IT Ambassador.
