The 4th meeting of ICT ministers of the OTS countries was held in Samarkand

On October 26, within the framework of “ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2022”, in Samarkand was held the 4th meeting of ministers responsible for ICT of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The moderator of the meeting was the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov.

The event was attended by: OTS Secretary General Bagdad Amreev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Zamirbek Kozhomuratov, Chairman of the State Agency for Civil Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiev, Deputy Minister  Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rovshan Rustamov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey Omer Fatih Sayan, Representative of the Digital Transformation Department under the President of the Republic of Turkey Ms. Sheima Ozkan.

The parties discuss current cooperation in the field of ICT within the existing working subgroups on the development of digital infrastructure, e-government and e-services and cybersecurity.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the implementation of the “OTS Digital Innovation Catalog”, the creation of the “Turkic IT House” in San Francisco, the creation of a platform for IT specialists as part of the implementation and development of “Smart City” technologies, further promotion of start-ups of member states and observers, and  also establishing cooperation in a joint legal assistance mechanism for the investigation of cybercrime in the coming period and more.

As a result of the meeting, the participants adopted the final version of the “Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of ICT between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States”.
