Tashkent, Uzbekistan – September 19, 2024. Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a key member of the Toyota Group and a global leader in diverse sectors such as metals, logistics, machinery, electronics, and IT, is actively exploring new collaboration opportunities with Uzbekistan's IT sector. During a meeting held at IT Park Uzbekistan’s headquarters, representatives from both sides discussed the potential for Toyota Tsusho to establish an entity in Uzbekistan.

The meeting was led by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, alongside key representatives from IT Park. Toyota Tsusho was represented by Eiji Yatabe, General Manager from Toyota Tsusho's headquarters, Senior Associate, Yuki Yamashita, and Kazuhiko Ishikawa, Project Manager.

IT Park representatives provided an in-depth presentation showcasing Uzbekistan’s burgeoning IT industry, skilled workforce, government incentives, and strategic location as a regional hub for digital innovation. These factors piqued the interest of the Toyota Tsusho delegation, encouraging the company to conduct the final internal discussion with the management in Tokyo about the potential IT outsourcing center in Uzbekistan.

Toyota Tsusho, with an investment portfolio of USD 71 billion and operations in over 150 offices worldwide, is evaluating Uzbekistan as a strategic location for its back-office operations. The company has established a liaison office in Uzbekistan and is engaged in projects such as installing optical lines with Uztelecom and Uzinfocom.

The discussions focused on registering Toyota Tsusho in Uzbekistan and exploring opportunities to provide IT services to neighboring countries from the Uzbek office, operating as a regional hub, including digital transformation initiatives (DX). This partnership could significantly contribute to the development of Uzbekistan's IT sector while offering Toyota Tsusho access to the country’s skilled workforce and strategic advantages.
