Uzbekistan Showcases IT Export Potential at Uzbekistan Tech & Services Conference in Malaysia

The Uzbekistan Tech & Services Conference was held in Kuala Lumpur as part of a broader initiative to promote Uzbekistan’s export potential in the fields of information technology and outsourcing. The event brought together over 120 companies, including representatives of leading Malaysian IT firms, digital agencies, game development studios, and BPO platforms.

The conference commenced with opening remarks delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Malaysia, who underscored the strategic nature of bilateral relations and the importance of advancing digital dialogue. This initiative follows the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Malaysia in February 2025 and the subsequent business forum attended by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Matthew Barsing, IT Park Uzbekistan’s representative in Southeast Asia, highlighted the active support provided by the Uzbek government and called the expansion of technological cooperation between the two countries.

Representatives of Malaysian company Canaan Communication & Technologies outlined the key reasons for selecting Uzbekistan as a destination for expansion — citing cultural affinity, a flexible approach to business, agility in decision-making, and the availability of young talent as decisive advantages for expanding IT and BPO operations.

During the conference, IT Park representatives presented the specific incentives and advantages of partnering with IT Park — including tax and customs exemptions, access to a multilingual workforce, and free infrastructure support for new member companies.

The Uzbekistan Tech & Services Conference reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s standing as a promising growth destination for Malaysia’s digital sector. IT Park Uzbekistan remains committed to strengthening international partnerships, unlocking new markets for local talent while creating an enabling environment for the localization of foreign technology enterprises.
