The World Bank and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan are planning to launch a new project "Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion". The project will focus on the foundations of digital inclusion by creating digital jobs for young people, including women and people with disabilities, in all regions of the Republic. The priority of the project is to create new digital workers, especially in the regions. The project will comply with gender equality.

The Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) is designed to support environmental and social due diligence provisions for World Bank funded activities under the Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion Project (P179108). It is expected that the bulk of the environmental impact will be in the first phase of the project. The project will finance the refurbishment of up to 8 existing facilities of Uzbektelecom.
