Japanese company expresses interest in the Uzbekistan market

The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with the leadership of Hitachi Vantara in Japan. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the positioning of Uzbekistan as a new outsourcing destination for Hitachi Vantara, as well as state-supported initiatives aimed at developing the IT sector in the country.

The dialogue primarily focused on the existing tax and customs incentives available in Uzbekistan, the conducive business environment provided to member companies of IT Park Uzbekistan, and government-backed programs for personnel training and workforce development.

The participants also explored the prospects of establishing a regional office for the company within Uzbekistan. Both parties underscored that Uzbekistan's advantageous geographical position, access to the CIS and neighboring markets, and its competitive labor market hold strategic importance for the company.

Hitachi Vantara also expressed interest in collaborating on the advancement of IT outsourcing services in Uzbekistan, the construction of data infrastructure and data centers, the training and professional development of local talent, and the implementation of joint projects involving both the public and private sectors.

Detailed information was presented to the company representatives regarding investment opportunities in data centers, national programs for IT infrastructure modernization, and educational initiatives aimed at talent development for the IT and digital economy sectors.

In conclusion, the parties reached an agreement to further strengthen the partnership with Hitachi Vantara and to promote Uzbekistan as a regional hub for outsourcing and data infrastructure. They also defined the next practical steps for launching outsourcing operations and establishing data centers.
