Uzbekistan–Korea: cooperation in the IT sector continues to expand

Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Rustam Karimjonov held a meeting with Kim Kyo Xin, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and Chair of the Committee on Education and Culture, during which the parties discussed the further expansion of Uzbekistan–Korea cooperation in the field of information technologies.

The meeting highlighted the steady growth of South Korean IT companies’ activities in Uzbekistan. It was noted that by the end of the current year, the number of Korean IT companies operating in the country is expected to reach 30.

The parties also exchanged views on attracting foreign investment, including projects related to the construction of large-scale data centers, the development of cooperation in digital education, and the implementation of joint initiatives.

Furthermore, the sides outlined practical measures aimed at increasing the number of companies engaged in the export of IT services in Uzbekistan to 100 by 2030, expanding the scale of joint projects, and further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
