A new Plug and Play office will be opened in Tashkent

On May 6, 2023, the opening ceremony of the new Plug and Play office will be held in the capital city.

Plug and Play is the worldʼs largest global innovation platform that connects startups, corporations, venture capital firms, universities and government agencies.

The event will be attended by Plug and Play Tech Center Managing Partner in EMEA Sina Amidhozur, Plug and Play Tech Center partner Sasha Karimpour, co-founder and director of Plug and Play Uzbekistan Felix Lammers, and among the founding partners – Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Chairman of Aloqabank Kammuna Irisbekova, CEO of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, as well as foreign partners such as Raiffeisen Bank. More than 300 entrepreneurs, investors, experts and decision makers are expected to attend the event.

Opening an office in Uzbekistan will help create more opportunities for local corporations and agencies, as well as accelerate the development of start-ups in the country. Additionally, cooperation with Plug and Play will help local startups enter the international market.

Panel discussions on FinTech and InsureTech are expected during the event, moderated by Alfredo Gómez Soria, Senior FinTech Partnership Manager in Frankfurt, and Xenia Poppe, Director of Insurtech in Munich.
