Delegation of the China SCO Technology Transfer Center visited IT Park

On July 17, a delegation from the Chinese Technology Transfer Center visited IT Park Uzbekistan. The purpose of the visit was to discuss detailed plans and steps for cooperation under the signed Memorandum in the fields of education and the export support of IT and BPO services from Uzbekistan to China.

The delegation consisted of Deputy Director of the center, Liu Hunchzhi, Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Hu Lili, Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation and Coordinator for cooperation with Central Asian countries, Abay Sahanov, Director of the International Trade and Investment Company Consult Invest ITIC in Uzbekistan, Denis Kim, and other representatives of the center.

The guests were welcomed by IT Park's Deputy General Director for Innovation, Jahongir Rajabov, Head of the Investment and International Relations Department, Nigora Mirdjalilova, Head of the Startup Ecosystem Development Department, Jahongir Kagirov, Coordinator for IT Park University student affairs, Shokhrukh Umarov, and International Cooperation Manager, Umida Odilova.

During the meeting, IT Park representatives presented key development directions of the organization and highlighted the support and initiatives backed by the Uzbekistan government to stimulate the IT sector in the economy. The presentation also covered issues related to human capital and the potential of the Central Asian region, with particular emphasis on the young population of Uzbekistan, which is a strategic focus for the development of this industry.

Various options for collaboration were discussed during the meeting, and agreements were reached to develop connections between companies from both countries and expand the export of IT and BPO services. The Chinese colleagues expressed interest in cooperation with IT Park University.

Deputy Director of the center, Liu Hunchzhi, noted the positive changes that have occurred in the IT sphere in Uzbekistan in recent years. The parties discussed plans for international projects and expressed their interest in joint initiatives aimed at developing relations between Uzbekistan and China in the field of information technology.

As a result of the meeting, the representatives agreed to continue expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and implement specific projects in the IT and BPO fields, which would strengthen the partnership between the two countries.

For reference: The Chinese Technology Transfer Center for SCO Member States is an official platform for multilateral cooperation, established with the support of the SCO Secretariat, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. The center was officially launched on December 10, 2020, as a high-level platform to expand channels of international cooperation in science and technology, culture, economy, and trade among SCO member states. Over 100 million yuan (15 million USD) was invested in the establishment of this center.
