On June 9–10, the job fair “IT Park Job Fest” was held in the new building of the Ministry of Digital Technologies in Tashkent.
The event was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, Inha University in Tashkent and IT Park in order to enable youth to communicate with company representatives, find out about available vacancies, company prospects, ask questions, exchange contacts and establish networking.
There were presented vacancies of the largest companies in the industry, present educational opportunities and internships, and guests of the festival could communicate with IT Park resident companies and get a job.
The event attracted the participation of about 50 companies, including well-known corporations such as Huawei, Qulix, Aliftech, Oson, Mohirdev, OneApp, t4data, Venkon, Realsoft, and others. The total number of registered participants for this event exceeded 1,000 people.
Several events were held within the framework of the fair, one of which was a seminar on the “Career in IT and its prospects”. During the session, the Head of the IT Community of Uzbekistan Shavkat Karimov told the guests of the event about how to build a successful career in the field of information technology, what difficulties novice specialists have to face and what prospects await employees of the IT industry.
“I have been given the honor to address the participants as a speaker. The organization of this event deserves the highest praise. Numerous companies are gathered here, representing not only youth, but also huge opportunities for all of us, as well as for the future of Uzbekistan. Returning to my mother country and actively participating in this event was a purposeful step on my part. Now I have the opportunity to financially help Uzbekistan and share my knowledge and experience. Thatʼs why I am here with you today.
I am sure that we are on the verge of a great breakthrough in Uzbekistan. In the next 3-5 years, we’re expected to see constant growth, because we have all the necessary conditions for this. The IT sector is developing, large financial resources are being invested in it, which is of great interest among youth.
I am sure that in a few years the country will achieve success through joint efforts and the desire to become leaders in this field”.
On the second day, the Edufest Open Day was held as part of the IT Park Job Fest.
The purpose of the event is to gather all IT courses in one place so that visitors can learn about educational opportunities in the field of IT and choose the course that suits them.
Edufest allowed visitors to get acquainted with leading educational institutions and training centers specializing in IT, get expert advice on career opportunities in IT, explore different roles in the industry and learn about labor market requirements, as well as learn about available scholarships and financial support programs, offered by educational partners.
On the same day, within the framework of the fair, a Startup Battle was held for everyone who is interested in the world of startups.
Startup Battle became a platform where 30 teams presented their projects, competing for the main prize – a trip to Lisbon for the web summit.
The contest has successfully ended and the organizers are now actively summing up the results of this exciting contest. As a reminder, the winners will receive generous prizes from the sponsors of the event:
Teams that took 4th–30th places will receive 1 million soums from sponsors for C-Space coworking.
Several visitors shared their impressions of the two-day fair and events held within the framework of the IT Park Job Fest:
Nasiba Baratova, 4th year student of TUIT.
“The IT Park Job Fest was an incredibly rewarding and inspiring event. I had the opportunity to personally communicate with representatives of large companies in the industry, learn about available vacancies and development prospects in the IT field.
The presentations of educational programs and internships were especially useful. I learned about new trends and technologies that I can learn to be competitive in the job market.
As for my preferences, I would most like to work at Huawei. Their innovative projects and technologies impressed me, I am already learning backend and I would be very happy to apply my skills and work in such a company”.
Alina Ivanova, 11th grade student at school No. 50 in Tashkent.
“Job Fest is a real treasure trove of opportunities. I'm just an 11th grade student and I was interested in learning more about working in IT. I was impressed that there were so many different companies and vacancies at the fair.
The seminar on the “Career in IT and its prospects” was also very informative. The Head of the IT Community of Uzbekistan gave valuable advice on how to build a successful career in the IT field and spoke about the real difficulties that beginners face.
Thanks to Job Fest, I received a lot of inspiration and motivation, learned about professional opportunities and found valuable contacts”.
