Within the scale of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China in the field of ICT and software products, a delegation comprised from the specialists of such companies as Alokabank JSC, Uzbekistan Pochtasi and IT Park visited Beijing, China, January 14-17, 2020.
The delegation carried on negotiations with a range of Chinese IT companies of organizations like: Alibaba Group, ZTO Express, FreshHema, Puppyoo Electronics, Bieke, Creative Development Department of Cultural Center. In the course of the visit, the capabilities of the Republic of Uzbekistan to improve the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and start-ups, in particular in the field of e-commerce, created by the conditions for IT companies and IT Park, have been demonstrated, and the possibilities of enhancing bilateral relations were also deeply discussed.
Following the meeting with the Alibaba Group, both parties agreed to intensify opportunities to develop partnership in the field of electronic commerce, improving online platforms in Uzbekistan for exporting Uzbek goods and electronics, creating an incubator for online stores in order to go local brands into the Chinese market, introduce and integrate business -models of Taobao village in Uzbekistan for agriculture and handicraft production, and plus conducting joint research to study the Uzbekistan market.
Through the negotiations with Bieke and Puppyoo Electronics, all parties agreed to get recommendations on the development of e-commerce and the startup ecosystem of Uzbekistan, as well as the possibility of cooperation with IT Park startup projects to approach the Chinese market. Bieke management accepted the invitation of the Uzbek side and expressed its interest in further cooperation, the chance of entering the Uzbek market and obtaining IT Park resident status.
The parties agreed with FreshHema on further partnership in the form of technological transfer and exchange of information from China's online commerce sector in order to implement experience in Uzbekistan. They have also discussed the possibility of supplying Uzbek goods in gross to China.
As the result of negotiations with ZTO Express, all parties have agreed on a possible cooperation to further expand the timing and delivery routes of goods from China to Uzbekistan, including via the introduction, improvement and optimization of e-commerce platforms.
With the "Creative Development Department of Cultural Center" organisation, the parties came into conclusion to arrange events and exhibitions in Uzbekistan and China in order to further develop culture and tourism, extend new projects in the field of information technology in tourism, consider creating a single platform for digitalizing services and integration payment systems in the tourism sector, and study the issue of attracting the Ministry of Commerce of China for the development of infrastructure and operation of museums and cultural sites in Uzbekistan.
The representatives of Chinese companies and organizations noted the dynamic development of information technologies in Uzbekistan, and also stated a desire to cooperate and develop bilateral relations.
