On November 6, IT Park Uzbekistan held a workshop for its member companies titled “Exploring Opportunities in the African IT Market”, organized as part of the Local to Global program. This program is designed to support Uzbek IT companies in expanding to international markets and promoting IT service exports, thereby enhancing their competitiveness on the global stage.
The event brought together representatives from ten member companies, including Qulix, Unicon-Soft, Al-Raqam, Uzbek Virtual Information Portal, Webase, Fido Business, Scoring Trust, Ky&Partners, Daromad Dasturi, First It Group, and Technocorp.
The workshop aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the specifics of the African IT market. Attendees gained practical skills, including field onboarding methodologies developed by Jabu and the importance of UX testing and qualitative research compared to quantitative metrics. A special emphasis was placed on exchange of expertise: Unicon-Soft presented successful case studies from its African market engagements, offering members invaluable insights and recommendations.
Yerke Sapar, the founder and CEO of Product Masters, served as the event’s keynote speaker, emphasizing key aspects for effective collaboration with partners and clients in the South African market.
The workshop exemplifies the success of the Local to Global program, which supports IT Park members through financial assistance, educational resources, and consultancy, empowering them to expand and capture new markets.
Local to Global is a platform for business transformation of local companies, providing them with technical and methodological support while fostering strategic thinking crucial for international market integration. The program also offers up to 50% reimbursement for export-related expenses. This has drawn the attention of the international business community and opened new avenues for IT Park members, establishing Uzbekistan as an emerging hub on the global technology and innovation landscape.
