Tashkent hosted the IT Education Forum

On October 26, as part of the third day of ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN 2023, the IT Education Forum took place, bringing together foreign experts and representatives of local and international IT companies.

The objective of this event was to promote the prospects of IT education development in Uzbekistan.

The forum commenced with the screening of a video dedicated to young talents who won in various competitions and nominations. The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Sherzod Shermatov delivered an opening speech.

Within the forum, Mr. Rustam Karimdjanov, the Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, delivered a speech. A video address was given by Mr. Jeff Magioncalda, the CEO of Coursera, followed by a presentation by Siddhartha Nagar, a representative of Coursera, and other speakers. The winners of the “President Tech Award” competition delivered motivational speeches.

Furthermore, the forum included an award ceremony for the winners of the regional stage of International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), where IT Park and ITPU acted as organizers, and the main sponsor of the competition was the company “Uzum”.

The championship took place on October 22 at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Fifteen teams secured a place in the semi-finals of the international tournament to be held in Almaty.

The first place was secured by the team from Tashkent University of Information Technologies, “Code of Duty” (Kuvonchbek Umurzakov, Mirakilov Davlatbek, Jamshidkhon Kadyrov), the second place was taken by the team from the Tashkent branch of Moscow State University, “Awesome team” (Rafael Ashrapov, Vyacheslav Shilov, Svyatoslav Kim), and the third place went to the team from the National University of Uzbekistan, “3 idiots” (Otabek Jurabekov, Diyorbek Tolibov, Ibrokhimjon Mirgiyosov).

The teams were awarded cash prizes:

1st place — 60 million sums;

2nd place — 40 million sums;

3rd place — 20 million sums.

The award ceremony was attended by Mahliyo Muksinova, the Deputy Director of IT Park for Education Development, and Nikolay Seleznev, the Director of Strategy and M&A at Uzum.

Mahliyo Muksinova also honored the winners of the “Top 5 Success Stories” competition, selected through social media voting conducted by IT Park.

The event concluded with a performance by the rapper Konsta.
