During his speech, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov noted that in order to create a favorable ecosystem in the current year, Uzbekistan created the Technological Park of Software Products and Information Technologies aka IT Park, whose residents were provided unprecedented privileges by the State President’s Decree (dated June 30, 2017 No. UP-5099) “On measures to radically improve the conditions for the development of the information technology industry in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
“The IT Park activities also cover a support to start-up initiatives, in particular, acceleration and incubation programs have been launched, plus the first Venture Fund has been established to finance them.
I am sure that the further development of the digital industry in many countries will require together efforts of all key participants in this process, starting from the state, private investors and ending with startup projects themselves,” said the Uzbekistan Prime Minister.
Also, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Rumas proposed the idea of creating the first Eurasian venture capital fund.
