Uzbekistan Showcases Business Expansion Opportunities in the CIS and Central Asia to Oracle

A delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies, led by Minister Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Oracle Corporation’s leadership, including Executive Vice President Simon de Montfort Walker and Senior Vice President Cherian Varghese. 

The discussions centred on the potential expansion of Oracle's presence in Central Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) through Uzbekistan, as well as prospective avenues for collaboration in the field of cloud technologies.

During the meeting, the Uzbek delegation presented the country's key advantages for technology enterprises. These include a favourable business climate, robust government support for the IT sector, an advanced digital infrastructure, and a large pool of skilled workforce. Emphasis was placed on the development of a highly qualified talent pool in Uzbekistan, especially in data engineering and cloud technologies. Additionally, the high level of foreign language proficiency among IT professionals further enhances the country’s attractiveness and competitiveness for international companies.

Oracle representatives expressed keen interest in exploring market potential in Uzbekistan’s particularly in areas related to cloud infrastructure and applications. Potential collaboration with Oracle would further solidify Uzbekistan’s position as a leading IT hub, fostering the integration of cutting-edge technologies.  The implementation of advanced solutions contributes to the development of the digital economy, the creation of highly skilled jobs, and the enhancement of the country’s competitiveness in the global market.
