Amazon Web Services representatives visited IT Park

On May 16, representatives of Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (AWS) – Almas Moldakanov and Egor Myasnikov, engaged in development of Commercial sector of Central Asia, paid an informal visit to the office of IT Park Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the activities of IT Park and discuss further steps within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed on May 2 in Berlin.

Representatives of IT Park told the guests about the measures taken by the Government of Uzbekistan to transform the country into a regional IT hub, as well as about the main activities of the Directorate. The parties discussed the support and initiatives coming from the Government of Uzbekistan for the development of the IT sector in the economy, as well as the human capital and potential of the Central Asian region. AWS representatives also got acquainted with the information provided about the young population of Uzbekistan, around which the industry development strategy is being implemented.

The guests were pleasantly surprised by the positive changes that have taken place in the IT sector in Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as the growth of IT Park and resident companies. Nigora Mirjalilova, Head of International Relations at IT Park, conducted a tour of the new IT cluster and spoke about its further development.

The parties discussed further steps to strengthen cooperation between Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL and IT Park Uzbekistan, including the upcoming event for resident companies scheduled for May 18, 2023.

Recall that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL was signed during the Uzbek-German business forum in Berlin.

Cooperation within the framework of the MoU may include the sharing of Amazon Web Services (AWS) knowledge and best practices on AI/ML education and research. 

Additionally, both parties will exchange the experience and best practices within the industry consultations related to the national strategy “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” and legislation on cloud technologies and data. AWS will provide advice, suggestions, and advice based on AWS best practices globally.
