A project to develop a new IT infrastructure facility—an incubation complex for IT companies and startups—has been officially launched in Samarkand. The start of construction was marked by a dedicated event attended by representatives of regional authorities, IT Park Uzbekistan, and the international contractor.
The ceremony was attended by Adiz Boboyev, Hokim of Samarkand Region; Jamshid Egamberdiyev, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies; Farhod Ibragimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan; as well as Pang Shengjian, the General Director of the Chinese company Shanghai Construction Group in Uzbekistan, representing the project’s general contractor, along with other industry representatives.
During the event, it was noted that the construction of the IT Park is aimed at advancing the region’s digital economy, promoting the adoption of innovative technologies across various sectors, and training qualified professionals in the field of information technology. The new complex is expected to provide conditions for supporting startup projects, accommodating IT companies, and developing the professional competencies of young specialists.
The IT incubation center will be built on a site of approximately one hectare. The project is being implemented by Shanghai Construction Group under the EPC+F model, which covers a full cycle of work—design, procurement, construction, and financing. All implementation stages will be carried out in accordance with national legislation and international engineering practices, including compliance with safety and quality standards.
The project is being carried out within the framework of the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy and is aimed at establishing sustainable digital infrastructure in the regions. The new IT Park will serve as a hub for technology companies, startups, and investors, while also contributing to the development of innovative направления and international cooperation, including between Uzbekistan and China in the field of the digital economy.
The project in Samarkand expands IT Park Uzbekistan’s regional network, strengthens its infrastructure capacity, and creates additional conditions for the growth of IT companies, talent development, and job creation. This will enable IT Park Uzbekistan to consistently develop the country’s technology ecosystem and support regional projects in scaling to the national and international levels.
