Enhancing Uzbekistan-Europe Partnership: A Discussion on Strengthening Cooperation

In turn, Minister Shermatov outlined the ministry’s strategic objectives and the opportunities being created within the sector.

It was further noted that, given Uzbekistan’s limited access to maritime trade routes, the ministry is actively fostering the development of the ICT sector, which has contributed to a notable increase in IT service exports.

Minister Shermatov underscored the importance of expanding cooperation with European countries, taking into account the distinct characteristics of the European market.

The parties also discussed prospects for collaboration in telecommunications, particularly the joint implementation of a project aimed at providing internet access to remote areas through advanced satellite communications.

Special attention was devoted to enhancing digital connectivity and strengthening resilience in digitalization and telecommunications.

Additionally, discussions encompassed projects under the "Team Europe Initiative on Digital Connectivity in Central Asia".

In conclusion, both sides expressed appreciation for the meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation and successfully implementing joint initiatives in the near future.
