Ideathon for youth completed in Samarkand

IT Park in cooperation with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, organized an ideathon in Samarkand region for initiative youth aged 16 to 30.

Ideathon is an idea contest where participants come up with project ideas on a given topic, and then present them to a jury and receive feedback. More than 90 people (men – 61, women – 29) took part in the contest, which took place over 2 days, making up 25 teams in total.

The teams competed in the following areas:

  • artificial intelligence;
  • medicine;
  • energy;
  • agriculture and water management;
  • construction;
  • education;
  • e-government;
  • fintech;
  • e-commerce.

According to the results of the contest, the winners were the teams that presented the following projects:

  • Uzbek Imo (Barot Turakhonov, Shokhzod Samariddinov, Ulugbek Asatullaev) is a sign language project, an educational platform for learning syllabic alphabet, designed to help people with special needs.
  • Boshpana (Shakhzod Toshboev, Abdulaziz Abdukhalil-zoda, Jaloliddin Murodullaev) is a platform that provides students with the opportunity to search for cheap, safe and compact housing on the marketplace, as well as serving to connect landlords and tenants.
  • No Traffic Jam (Sardor Salimov, Ozodkhon Rabbanakulov) is a project to reduce and prevent frequent traffic jams at intersections and maintain order by reducing the human factor on the roads.

All participants of the Ideathon were awarded certificates, and the winners, along with certificates, received valuable gifts in the form of equipment.

The event was held as part of an incubation program supported by the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
