On June 21, ITCEN Group Chairman Kang Seung Woo and company director Joo Jae Hwang visited IT Park Uzbekistan.
The meeting was aimed at discussing future partnerships between IT Park and ITCEN Group in the field of training highly qualified IT personnel, as well as getting acquainted with the ICT direction of Uzbekistan.
The guests were welcomed by Head of Department for International Relations and Investment Nigora Mirdjalilova, Chief Manager for International Cooperation of the Investment and International Relations Department Umida Odilova, and Chief Manager for Business Process Outsourcing Development of the IT Services Export Development Department Izzat Khamidov.
IT Park professionals presented the activities of the organization, spoke about the residents, including the types of companies and projects that are being developed there, as well as tax preferences and relocation programs that residents receive. Particular emphasis was placed on the process of training highly qualified IT personnel in Uzbekistan. Experts mentioned such important projects as “One million Uzbek coders”, “Coursera” and “IT Bilim”. It was noted that every year more than 25,000 youth under the age of 30 receive education in the field of IT.
Foreign guests admired the positive changes that are taking place in the IT sector in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in becoming residents of IT Park. Additionally, Joo Jae Hwang shared information about cooperation and joint projects with Ajou University in Tashkent in the field of TOT (Training of trainers) – training of specialist-teachers in the IT direction.
Kang Seung Woo expressed interest in the issue of training IT personnel and noted the shortage of qualified professionals in this area in Korea. In this regard, he expressed his intention to create a joint Uzbek-Korean IT Center for training specialists, including in Korean.
