IT Park and OSCE join forces: the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of IT and innovation

On August 9, IT Park Uzbekistan was visited by a delegation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), consisting of 11 people, headed by OSCE Chairman Buyar Osmani.

The delegation was met by General Director of IT PARK Uzbekistan Farhod Ibragimov, Deputy General Director for Innovation Jahongir Radjabov, and head of the investment and international relations department Nigora Mirdzhalilova.

A presentation on the achievements and new projects of the IT Park was presented at the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the human potential of Uzbekistan, where a significant number of students study in the IT field. More than five million people in the country speak English and have IELTS certificate, which makes Uzbekistan a promising partner for cooperation in the field of BPO and outsourcing.

Head of the OSCE National Project on the Economic and Environmental Dimension Umid Pulatov emphasized the long-term cooperation with IT Park and mentioned already existing joint projects such as the Open Data Challenge, Open Data Acceleration and HACK4REGION, support for women's entrepreneurship and projects in the field of digital development of youth.

As a result of the meeting, the following proposals for cooperation were put forward:

 • Development of a mentoring program to support IT companies in the field of exports and organization of trips to EU countries to exchange experience;

 • Support of startup community through incubation, acceleration programs and the organization of hackathons;

 • Support for women's entrepreneurship and capacity building programs.

Both sides expressed hope for continued successful cooperation and development of new projects. The meeting ended with the presentation of memorable gifts.
