From February 14 to 18, 2022, IT Park Director Farhod Ibragimov took part in the 30th Economic and Environmental Forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which was held in Vienna, Austria, as well as in a number of working visits to Technoparks and companies European Union.
During the forum, a meeting was also held with OSCE representatives, within which the parties decided to focus on the implementation of projects on cross-border e-commerce, strengthening the economic role of women through digital development and further employment, and also pay special attention to inclusive programs for people with disabilities.
As part of the financing of these projects, the OSCE will allocate $500,000 in the form of a grant, and external partners and sponsors will also be involved. The programs will be implemented in all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2022-2024.
In addition, in the city of Stuttgart, Germany, a meeting was held between IT Park Director Farhod Ibragimov and National Advisor to the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan Murod Khusanov with “Plug & Play Germany” Managing Director Sasha Karimpur and Startup Autobahn powered by “Plug & Play” Corporate Partnership Manager Felix Lammers.
“Plug and Play Tech Center” is one of the world's largest accelerators and investors headquartered in Silicon Valley. The platform brings together more than 30,000 startups, more than 500 of the world's leading corporations, including universities and government agencies, as well as more than 300 venture capital funds. “Plug and Play” invests between $25,000 and $500,000 annually in startups around the world.
“Startup Autobahn powered by Plug & Play” is one of the best innovation platforms and organizations based in Stuttgart, Germany, which combines the unrivaled technological expertise of Silicon Valley (“Plug & Play”) and the best experience of German engineering (“Mercedes-Benz”).
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities and prospects for opening a “Plug & Play” representative office in Uzbekistan. In particular, future areas of activity for cooperation in the field of innovative developments – Agtech and Travel, which are in great demand in the Republic of Uzbekistan, were identified.
Further, in Germany, a meeting was held with representatives of the international magazine “Outsourcing Journal Verband”, which is one of the most popular media in the field of outsourcing for the countries of the European Union.
Today, the number of subscribers of the print magazine in the field of IT and BPO is more than 1 million subscribers. In addition, the online version of the publication has more than 800 feature articles, +4,000 subscribers, +200 authors.
The parties agreed to publish up-to-date information and author's materials about the BPO-sphere and IT-market of Uzbekistan in the “Outsourcing Journal Verband” to attract more foreign investors and partners to the Republic.
Also, as part of the working visit, a discussion was held on the opening of an IT Park representative office in Germany in order to increase the number of orders for outsourcing in the field of IT and BPO-services for local specialists and companies.
The final meeting of the visit was a visit to the European-Uzbek Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ) in Brussels, Belgium.
The parties, represented by IT Park Director Farhod Ibragimov and EUROUZ General Secretary Oybek Shaykhov, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in order to attract more orders in the field of IT and BPO for Uzbek specialists and companies, create favorable conditions for attracting foreign investors and partners.
