IT Park Uzbekistan, in collaboration with JETRO Tashkent, hosted a meeting with a delegation of Japanese IT companies to explore potential avenues for cooperation and investment opportunities available to Japanese companies in Uzbekistan’s IT sector.
The meeting commenced with a welcoming address by Ms. Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director, who emphasized the rapid growth and potential of Uzbekistan’s IT industry, as well as the pivotal role of IT Park in fostering innovation and technological advancement. Japanese enterprises are increasingly engaging with Uzbekistan’s IT market and becoming members of IT Park Uzbekistan. As of February 2025, the number of member companies with Japanese capital has reached 10, with three companies already engaged in the export of IT services. Furthermore, by the end of 2024, five IT Park members had successfully exported their services to Japan, representing a substantial increase compared to 2023, when only one Japanese member company operated in the country.
Mr. Yuta Ichinose, General Director of JETRO Tashkent, expressed his confidence that this engagement would serve as a foundation for fruitful collaboration between Uzbekistan and Japan in the field of information technology.
Additionally, Mr. Bokhodir Ayupov, CEO of IT Park University, provided an overview of the university’s educational programs, strategic partnerships, and dedicated efforts in cultivating highly qualified IT professionals to meet the evolving demands of both domestic and international labor markets.
The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, wherein representatives of Japanese IT companies engaged in discussions with IT Park officials regarding Uzbekistan’s IT workforce, investment climate, and potential avenues for cooperation. Notably, the Japanese delegation proposed organizing a job fair tailored for Japanese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan. This initiative aims to streamline the recruitment process and further strengthen business relations between the two nations.
This event served as a productive platform for dialogue and has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and Japanese enterprises.
