IT Park Uzbekistan and KAIT Collaborate to Boost IT Industry Growth

A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Executive Director Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, hosted representatives from the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT), headed by Changhee Lee, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, to discuss the development of bilateral relations and future cooperation in the IT sector.

KAIT, a non-profit organization affiliated with the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), was established in 1987. It provides policy support for promoting the digital and ICT industries, drives joint cooperation projects, and acts as a bridge between the government and industry. KAIT's mission is to contribute to national digital development and enhance public benefits through collaboration and strengthening its membership.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between IT Park Uzbekistan and KAIT. The MoU aims to deepen cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations by facilitating exchanges, exploring business opportunities, and promoting activities in the ICT sector for both the Korean and Uzbek markets.

According to the MoU, IT Park Uzbekistan and KAIT will foster experience sharing between the two industries, support the attraction of IT companies to both countries, and promote outsourcing of IT and services worldwide. The agreement also covers expanding business opportunities for members in both countries and exchanging administrative and technical personnel, consultants, and experts.

Additionally, both organizations will work together to promote marketing activities such as exhibitions (e.g., World IT Show), conferences, forums, and other events.

This cooperation is expected to act as a catalyst for stronger bilateral relations, driving the growth of the IT industries in both countries. With multilingual talented workforce and a 99% literacy rate, Uzbekistan's human capital is a key asset. The involvement of Korean tech companies will help create jobs in Uzbekistan, while the collaboration with Korea’s more advanced IT industry will enable local specialists to develop their skills and increase their market demand.
