Minister of ICT met with fellow Uzbeks working in IT in the U.S.

During the visit to the United States, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov, Deputy Minister of Education Rustam Karimjonov and CEO of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov met with fellow Uzbeks working in the IT sector.

Guys working in international companies such as Google, Apple, Uber, CISCO, Amazon, EY, as well as entrepreneurs and students currently studying in Silicon Valley came together at the restaurant of Uzbek national cuisine.

During the meeting, the minister suggested that more Uzbek youth should be involved in outsourcing projects.

“When I was in Khorezm, young coders told us that our fellow Uzbek in the US takes orders for $70 per hour and gives us $7 dollars per hour.  I do not want to say anything bad, but this is a clear example that our fellow Uzbeks abroad also have the opportunity to earn extra money.  If university students in the provinces have an income of $7 per hour, this is about $1,000 per month, which means they work hard and have an additional portfolio and experience,” he added.

The minister thanked the organizers of this meeting and everyone who had time to come to the event.
