From August 14th to 20th, representatives of IT Park as part of a delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan visited the United States. During the visit, meetings were held with compatriots and a number of American companies, wherein the potential of Uzbekistan as a hub for IT outsourcing was presented, and agreements were reached to enhance collaboration, create new employment opportunities, and increase the export of IT services.
On August 16th, a meeting was held in Chicago with compatriots who are engaged in the fields of information technology and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). This event was attended by the representative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the USA, Akrom Rizaev, the president of the "Uzbekistan-Chicago" community, Olimjon Sharipov, as well as representatives from companies such as DataTruck, NebulaGroup Inc., West Silk Road, ZNS Cargo, 1800 flowers, Uluqi Plastics, KIO Union, Zone LLC, Quality Logistics, Kupsilla, OTR Solutions, Assured Partners, ZMT Integrity, and others.
The primary objective of the event was to promote Uzbekistan's potential in the field of IT outsourcing. The meeting showcased reforms and significant accomplishments in the realm of information technology, encompassing infrastructure development, technological innovations, and state support. Attendees of the meeting analyzed the opportunities for outsourcing IT, BPO, and KPO services in Uzbekistan.
Additionally, prospects for the development of Uzbekistan's IT sector were discussed. Specifically, the favorable investment climate of the country, tax incentives, and preferences, programs aimed at attracting foreign companies, and ways in which compatriots in the United States can avail themselves of these opportunities were deliberated upon.
In conclusion, representatives of the participating companies expressed their interest in establishing official representations in Uzbekistan to attain IT Park resident status.
On August 17th, in Chicago, a meeting took place with the leader of the American logistics company ZNS Cargo, Zafar Akhunov. The company is outsourcing several business processes to its Tashkent office, which holds the status of an IT Park resident.
Cooperation plans and the Zero Risk program were discussed, within which ZNS Cargo intends to establish offices in various regions of Uzbekistan. An agreement was reached to create 500 new job positions for the provision of BPO services from Uzbekistan by the end of 2025.
Furthermore, on this day, a meeting was held with Michael Hasser, a representative of Petroleum Oil Tools, and a board member of Via, Luis Cooper, who expressed interest in establishing call centers in the Uzbekistan region.
Subsequently, a meeting took place with the head of the American logistics company ZMT Integrity (E&O Global Trucking Company), Afloatam Eler. The company is also outsourcing business processes to its Tashkent office, a resident of IT Park.
During the meeting, further collaboration and the Zero Risk program were also discussed. An agreement was reached to create 100 new job positions in the logistics sector by the end of the year.
On August 18th, a meeting took place in Orlando with Zukhriddin Murodov, the head of Jetruck Logistics – an IT Park resident with an office in Tashkent. Additionally, a delegation of 17 individuals from prominent American logistics companies was present at the meeting.
Agreements were reached regarding collaboration within the frameworks of the Zero Risk and Local 2 Global programs, aimed at creating additional job opportunities in Uzbekistan and increasing exports.
Later, a meeting was held with the head of Kings Mountain National Carriers LLC, Jonathan Jacobs. With annual revenue exceeding $9 million, the company is a successful player in the transportation segment and holds a reputable standing among significant logistics companies in the USA.
During the meeting, Mr. Jacobs extensively acquainted himself with the rapid pace of digitalization in Uzbekistan, along with the benefits and initiatives devised to support IT enterprises in the country.
The parties agreed to organize an official visit of American logistics companies to Uzbekistan for the purpose of familiarizing themselves with the outsourcing market in Uzbekistan.
On the same day, negotiations were held with Kenneth Lacey, the Vice President of Assured Partners, a major independent insurance brokerage company with a total revenue of $1.6 billion in 2022. The company employs over 8,000 individuals across North America, the United Kingdom, and Belgium.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to collaborate with the company on the establishment of a representation in Uzbekistan.
Finally, a meeting was held with Ilkhom Bobokhanov, the leader of I&S Transportation LLC (Global Expedited), an IT Park resident with an office in Tashkent.
Parties agreed to collaborate within the frameworks of the Zero Risk and Local 2 Global programs, with the aim of creating additional job opportunities in Uzbekistan and increasing exports.
