The Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Amazon Web Services (AWS), EMEA SARL, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing ceremony of the document took place on May 2 during the Uzbek-German business forum in Berlin.
According to the MoU, the parties intend to organize joint discussions in the field of digital transformation of the public sector of Uzbekistan, digital literacy, knowledge and best practices in the field of digital skills and research, innovation, foundational policies and regulations that support cloud technologies.
Cooperation within the framework of the MoU may include the sharing of Amazon Web Services (AWS) knowledge and best practices on AI/ML education and research.
Additionally, both parties will exchange the experience and best practices within the industry consultations related to the “Digital Uzbekistan 2030” national strategy and cloud and data legislations. AWS will provide input based on the AWS best practices globally.
Director of IT Park Farkhod Ibragimov, noting the importance of signing the memorandum, stressed the relevance of implementing joint projects:
“During our meetings and talks with AWS representatives, we realized that we have many similar goals and ambitions. We started our dialogue with the support of Shokhrukh Djuraev, AWS Finance Director for EMEA. And today was another landmark date in the history of IT Uzbekistan.
Cooperation with companies like AWS launches new wave of development of IT projects. We firmly believe in the potential of partnerships and believe that joint partnership efforts will allow Uzbekistan to reach a new level of IT-sector development and solve a number of problems."
