UNIDO representatives visited IT Park

IT Park hosted a meeting with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Investment Promotion Coordinator Mr. Jongmin Kim and Advisor to the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications Development Mr. Ko.

During the visit, the guests were told about the activities and contribution of IT Park and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the development of IT. The issues of advanced training of IT specialists, attracting export-oriented Korean IT companies to Uzbekistan, as well as the exchange of experience between IT Park residents and Korean IT companies were discussed.

During the meeting, Jongmin Kim spoke about the basic principles of UNIDO ITPO Korea. Since the establishment of the first office in 1986, the ITPO network has contributed to reducing development imbalances by fostering investment and technology cooperation between developed, developing and transition countries. The UNIDO network includes 9 offices around the world.

As the participants of the parties noted, cooperation with UNIDO ITPO Korea will make it possible to establish effective activities to promote a strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea to achieve common welfare and sustainable development, including IT.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for cooperation and agreed to hold a series of introductory online seminars with Korean IT and BPO companies wishing to enter the Uzbek market.
