A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and including the Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, Farhod Ibragimov, is currently undertaking a business visit to the Republic of Korea to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the IT sector.

As part of this visit, a meeting was conducted with Miso Information Technology.

Miso Information Technology, a Korean enterprise founded in 2006 and headquartered in Gachon, offers a comprehensive platform for big data integration and processing, encompassing data collection, storage, analysis, and visualization. The company's focus areas include medical AI, the metaverse, ecology, and energy. Miso Information Technology generates an annual revenue of $11.6 million and employs 160 personnel.

Representing Miso Information Technology at the meeting were Vice President Nam Deong Seok and Executive Director Kyungil Min. The company is presently seeking new locations for establishing outsourcing offices and has expressed a keen interest in Uzbekistan's IT sector.

During the meeting, representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan highlighted the advantages of Uzbekistan's technological industry for foreign enterprises. They presented statistical data on the number of young specialists, detailed the Zero Risk program which reimburses all expenses during the first year, and discussed the tax incentives available to all resident companies of IT Park. Furthermore, they elaborated on the ongoing development of the Enterprise Uzbekistan project, which will provide additional benefits.

Several potential locations for opening Miso Information Technology offices in Uzbekistan were proposed, including the Kashkadarya and Fergana regions. These regions were selected due to their high concentration of qualified specialists, including those proficient in the Korean language. Additionally, Kyungil Min and Nam Deong Seok were introduced to the OSS service, which IT Park offers to handle all organizational matters and prepare the necessary documentation for establishing the company's office in Uzbekistan. This service also piqued the interest of Miso's leadership.

Kyungil Kevin Min and Nam Deong Seok expressed their interest in opening outsourcing offices in Uzbekistan and plan to visit the country soon to personally assess the economic environment and infrastructure. Minister Sherzod Shermatov formally invited the company's representatives to the Global Business Services Forum and ICT Week, scheduled for July and September 2024 in Tashkent.

This collaboration represents a significant step towards establishing robust business connections with South Korea's private sector in the IT and outsourcing fields. It is noteworthy that the presence of Korean companies in Uzbekistan has been increasing in recent quarters, primarily due to the country’s substantial human resource potential and supportive government programs.
