Uzbekistan national esports team won the Asian Championship

On July 17, the Uzbekistan national esports team took first place at the Asian Championship in Saudi Arabia. 

The national team of Uzbekistan was represented by the TT.Team (Traffic Tashkent Team), which includes:

• Ruslan “fr0k" Gizatov;
• Amirbek “wetfy" Timurov;
• Аrtem “MantikorE”  Kim;
• Daniel “icyvl0ne" Lee;
• Ibrahim “kanshineF" Abdukadyrov;
• Timur Aiderovich Memetov - the founder of the team.

On May 7, the national team of Uzbekistan won the Central Asian eliminating round in the qualification tournament, leaving behind the teams from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, receiving a ticket to the Asian Championship held by the IESF.

IESF (International Esports Federation) is a global sports organization based in South Korea. Its mission is to ensure that esports is recognized as an official sport. The Federation unites national esports organizations of most countries. It was established in 2008. 

At the Asian Championship held by the IESF as part of an international tournament "15th WE Championship IASI 2023" in Saudi Arabia, the national team of Uzbekistan in CS:GO took the first place. The best teams from the region representing 10 countries took part in the competition.

At the final meetings, the Uzbekistanis were able to defeat the national teams of Palestine, Indonesia and Mongolia, thereby demonstrating skills and collective synchronicity.

The prize fund was $12,500 and is distributed among the winners. Participants from the Uzbek National team will receive 7000 dollars for the first place.  

Thus, the national team of Uzbekistan received the right to participate in the World Esports Championship (IESF World Esports Championship 2023), which will be held in Iasi, Romania at the end of August 2023, where the best 24 teams of the world will compete for the title of World champion.

Recall that according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 423 dated October 17, 2022, esports is recognized as an independent sport and measures have been taken for its development. One of the main areas of work in this sphere is the holding of national and international tournaments and championships, ensuring the participation of national teams of Uzbekistan in esports in the World and Asian championships, as well as other international tournaments.
