Uzbekistan strengthens cooperation in digitalization with Latvia

On July 6, 2023, within a framework  of the global Digital Leadership Forum, representatives from the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park held a meeting with former President of the Republic of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia to Uzbekistan, Rēnis Troksa.

The main topic of the meeting was the Digital Leadership Forum, scheduled for July 7-8, which will bring together more than 20 international experts and representatives of over 300 companies and organizations from around the world. Participants of the forum will discuss various sessions on topics such as GovTech, EdTech, IT&BPO Outsourcing, and Venture.

During the meeting with the former Latvian president, detailed information about the forum was provided to the guests. The parties discussed the events that will take place during the forum and its significance for the development of Uzbekistan's IT industry.

Special attention was given to the work being done in the field of digitalization and information technology in Uzbekistan. The guests expressed interest in strengthening collaboration in the implementation of projects related to the development of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) and KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) services.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that forums like the Digital Leadership Forum will be an important step towards further development of Uzbekistan's IT industry and attracting leading international companies.

Prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in the field of digitalization were also discussed. Both sides expressed their readiness to develop partnership relations and exchange expertise in the field of information technology.

The former President of Latvia noted that Uzbekistan has created a favorable investment and entrepreneurial environment for the development of the IT sector. He expressed confidence that the Digital Leadership Forum will be a successful platform for attracting international companies and experts to Uzbekistan.
