A delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan participated in the international innovation summit INMerge Innovation Summit, held in Baku. The delegation of Uzbekistan included Makhmud Giyasov, Head of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Digital Technologies for the Jizzakh Region; Khojiakbar Bobozhonov, Head of IT Park’s Khorezm branch; and Adham Abdullaev, Head of IT Park’s Jizzakh branch.
Within the framework of the summit, the delegation held a series of meetings with local IT companies, including MuleSoft, Caspian Soft Technologies, Softgile, Joint Logic Technologies, Sergek Group, Seculayer, Dapti, Bomensoft, and Competo LLC, as well as engaged in productive discussions with Georgian business consultant Iya Dreidze. During the meetings, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the IT and BPO sectors, shared experiences in startup development, and expressed mutual interest in advancing joint projects in the field of information technologies.
In addition, the delegation visited the offices of leading IT companies in Baku, such as ITB Techo, MarLab Growth Agency, Crocusoft, and Inlab LLC. Following the visit, the parties reached a number of preliminary agreements, including the opening of representative offices of Azerbaijani IT companies in Uzbekistan, the launch of joint initiatives, the organization of staff exchange and internship programs for specialists of both countries, and the implementation of collaborative projects between startups and technology parks. The parties also discussed the development of a practical roadmap aimed at expanding investment and export potential. Furthermore, agreements were achieved regarding the export of Azerbaijani products from Uzbekistan to the markets of Central Asia following the establishment of their representative offices.
Participation in the INMerge Innovation Summit represented a significant step in promoting Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem on the international stage. The meetings contributed to strengthening bilateral partnerships between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, attracting foreign investment, and fostering job creation. Moving forward, both sides intend to implement joint programs, formalize official agreements, and launch new initiatives in the fields of innovation and digital technologies.
