On July 17, the Information and Mass Communications Agency held a press conference at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the immediate opening of the first Technopark in Uzbekistan.

The press conference was Chaired by The First Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Communications Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan,Mr. Umarov Olimjon Mukhajanovic. The other dignitaries are Mr.Ibragimov Farkhod, Director of the Technology Park of Software Products and Information and Dr. Partasarathy,Adviser- IT-Park.Along with the employees of IT Park all the leading media representatives and well-known bloggers attended the conference.
The main topic of the press conference was the immediate opening of the Techno Park, which will be held on July 24, 2019. In the event a number of issues related to the future activities of IT-Park, the acceptance of applications for Techno Park programs – incubation and accelerator, the method of selection for these programs, the structure of the IT-academy, the requirements for becoming a resident IT Park etc. were discussed.
At the press conference it was also brought out the details of the successful completion of acceptance of applications for incubation and accelerator programs. Out of the 103 applicants, 41% were submitted for the accelerator program (42 applications) and 59% for the incubation program (61 applications). The youngest start-up is 16 years old, the oldest is 67 years. 51 per cent of applicants are aged 16 to 25, 31 per cent from 26 to 35, and 18 per cent from 36 and above. The most popular IT areas were: E-Commerce – 54%, Online Education – 13% and IoT – 12%.
During the event, it was also stated that IT-Park will cooperate with both local and foreign mentors who have a lot of experience as professionals in their field. IT-Park will develop relationships with organizations that are the driving force in their countries in the IT field. Today, IT-Park partners include: Software Technology Parks of India (New Delhi), Tech Nation (London), Astana Hub International Technology Technology Park (Nur Sultan), High Technology Park ,IT Park (Kazan), Kazan, Exadel Llc (Minsk), IT Park High Technology Technology Park (Moscow), Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center, INHA University in Tashkent, Tashkent University of Information Technology, Business School Humo Campus, Network coworking centers “Ground’Zero” and the “C-SPACE” Coworking Center.
