First time ever nationwide robotics contest” RoboTech” to take place in Uzbekistan

The IT Center under IT Park in partnership with “Revochain Technology” LLC, with the support of the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is ready to announce the launch of the first-ever robotics contest in Uzbekistan among students in schools titled “RoboTech”!

This contest is aimed to promote the development of creative activity and the popularization of engineering specialties among young people in the field of robotics; popularization of technical modeling among students of educational institutions; identification and support of talented and gifted youth, its integration to creative activity.

“RoboTech” itself will include three stages: district and city selection; regional selection; republican selection (final).

The winners of the district, city and regional selection will be identified within the scope of Intro contest, where each team must present the capabilities of their robot, as well as demonstrate its merits.

The intro stage consists of a story about the project and a demonstration of the robot and / or game situation (no more than 10 minutes); answering to questions of the jury members (max. 5 minutes); special task "X" wherein participants must write a program for their robot and specify the execution of a function that was not originally. The function that the robot must perform is set by the jury.

At the final stage to be arranged in June 2020, the 14 best teams from each region will participate, and go through one of three types of following competitions: “Sumo Robot”, “Line Follower”, “Freestyle”:

Sumo robot. as in the traditional Japanese sumo, opponents will need to fight, and the winner to be the one who manages to knock the opponent out of the ring.

This competition has its own “weight categories”:

Mega Sumo (20 x 20 cm, 3 kg)

Mini Sumo (10 x 10 cm, 500 g)

Micro Sumo (5 x 5 cm, 100 g)

Nano Sumo (2.5 x 2.5 cm, 25 g)

Humanoid Sumo (50 x 20cm, 3 kg)

Lego Sumo (15 x 15 cm, 1 kg)

Line Follower, in this competition, the robot will follow a black line on a white background. The winner will be the one who will be able to quickly reach the finish line.

Freestyle, in this category, participants can do everything to show the advantages of their robot.

Evaluation criteria are as follows: creative approach; relevance; science; quality of workmanship; complexity; Interest presentation quality; teamwork; ingenuity.

Winners will get:

1 place - payment of a tuition fee for study at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies + laptop;

2 place - laptop + LEGO mindstorm kit;

3 place - LEGO mindstorm kit.

The final of the competition will be held at a specialized school named after Al-Khwarizmi.
