INHA University hosted the grand opening of SCO STUDENTS CUP finals

Inha University hosted the grand opening of SCO STUDENTS CUP finals among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

 

The Minister of ICT Sherzod Shermatov, Deputy National Coordinator of Uzbekistan for SCO Affairs Timur Faridovich Abdullin, President of Uzbekistan eSports Association Doniyor Juraev, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, university students and fans of CS: GO and DOTA 2.

As it was noted, the attitude towards computer games has always been ambiguous. It is believed that they stimulate the intellectual development of children. Moreover, in the contemporary world, a whole area called e-sports is successfully developing replacing the traditional ones. And Uzbekistan decided to guide the youth towards the right direction.

The international SCO STUDENTS CUP in Uzbekistan is held for the first time. Despite this, the organizing committee has done a great job in involving young people to participate in tournaments, to conduct their qualifying stages, to develop e-sports in Uzbekistan.

In total, 8 teams from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, India, Pakistan and China take part in CS: GO and DOTA 2.

The total prize fund of the tournament is 200 million UZS (~$18,000). The winners of each of the disciplines will receive 50 million UZS, the 1st runner up - 30 million UZS and 3rd and 4th runner up – 10 million UZS each.

Contest will take 4 days. The awarding ceremony of CS:GO and DOTA 2 winners is scheduled for June 2.
