A group of venture investors with the participation of UZCARD Ventures, IT Park Investment, and the business-angel club “UzAngels” closed an investment round in the fintech-startup IMAN for more than $200. The total amount of the investment round was $1 million, including foreign investors from Singapore, Kazakhstan and other countries.
In this regard, UZCARD Ventures announced an international conference on the topic “Venture capital: illusion or reality in Uzbekistan – IMAN case”, with the participation of the founders of IMAN startup, international and local venture investors who took part in the investment deal.
The event took place on April 7 at the site of the corporate accelerator UZCARD.
The speakers from IT Park were Director Farhod Ibragimov and Deputy Director Jahongir Radjabov.
During the session, the speakers talked about the experience of investing in the IMAN startup and structuring the deal. In addition, they shared further plans for scaling the startup.
Within the framework of the conference, a panel session was held on the legal aspects of investing in Uzbekistan.
The director of IT Park Uzbekistan noted that financing the project IMAN at this stage is not a way to attract profit or benefit.
“We believe that this startup has every chance of becoming a global project and covering many foreign countries. We want to support the team and their idea”, – added Farhod Ibragimov.
