IT Park conducted courses on open data for government employees

From 10 to 25 August, IT Park, cooperatively with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan and the Project Management Center, conducted courses on the development of the open data sphere within the framework of the President’s decree “On additional measures to ensure openness and transparency of public administration and increasing the strategic potential of the country” and the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures for the further development of the open data sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

232 employees from 127 ministries and subordinate organizations have successfully completed training courses, which were conducted in a remote format via video conferencing. The main goal of webinars and workshops is to raise awareness of open data, its importance and the need and benefits of using it.

First of all, open data is complete information about the activities of government bodies and public authorities and posted on the Internet for the purpose of multiple, free and free use.

In Uzbekistan, there is an Open Data Portal, which provides users with access to the necessary information on the Internet and provides timely feedback. All published data on the Portal are relevant and integrated with the existing electronic platforms of ministries and subordinate organizations. This means that with the help of open data, users will be able to make effective economic decisions in the implementation of various business problems.

Today, Uzbekistan pays great attention to the development of open data and ensuring its transparency for the further formation of civil society through the ability to control and track the activities of state bodies. These actions also ensure an increase in the level of citizens' confidence in ministries and subordinate organizations, as well as expand the opportunities for high-quality exchange of information between government agencies.

Upon completion of the training courses, the organizers of the webinar considered the implementation of further work to improve the qualifications of government officials and improve their knowledge in the field of open data.
