IT Park held a seminar on the theme «Opportunities for women in modern Uzbekistan»

On this year’s November 20, under the leadership of IT Park in partnership with the Wonder Women community, the Center for Innovation, Technology and Strategy under the Ministry of Public Education, Artel, and the Amity University in Tashkent, a seminar was organized on the topic “Opportunities for Women in Modern Uzbekistan.”

The event was started with opening remarks by Abduvali Khaidarov, Director of the Center for Innovation, Technology and Strategy under the Ministry of Public Education, Rada Islamova, founder of Wonder Women, Anastasia Filippova, Head of Digital Transformation Department at IT Park and Tumaris.Tech Project Coordinator, and Artel Deputy Chairman of the Board for Scientific Affairs  Uktam Ablakulov.

The seminar was held in the building of Amity University and the number of visitors was about 200 people, among whom were students of secondary and high schools of Uzbekistan, as well as girls from charity houses.

For the visitors, a presentation was made about the prospects of education for girls in the country from the rector of Amity University, Bobur Abdullayev, and Kamola Sabirova, the head of the press service of Artel, spoke about her experience of combining her career and family.  Additionally, the founder of the MyTaxi service Akmal Paiziev shared his experience in the labor market in the modern world and spoke about the employment and work of women in his companies, the Chairperson of the Youth Parliament under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Mohistara Mukhammadyunusova spoke about the importance of developing women in the context of increased competition in an era  digitalization of industries, and human rights lawyer and curator-founder of Global Shapers Tashkent Hub Dilfuza Kurolova shared about the possibilities of the right to choose.

Particularly, through a video link, the UNDP representative in Kazakhstan announced the launch of a new program on November 25, entitled “16 days without violence against women”.  Before each performance, short videos were shown, after which the young girls shared their perspectives on the above issues.

During the event, at the initiative of the organizers, among the audience were raffled gifts in the form of a laptop, TV, backpacks, T-shirts and a certificate providing free access to graphic design courses.

The seminar was held in the form of a lively discussion, where the girls were able to learn much more about their role and importance in the formation of a startup ecosystem, economic development and entrepreneurship among the young generation of Uzbekistan.  The fact was emphasized that the youth of Uzbekistan possess all the necessary skills and potential for active participation not only in local projects, but also in the international ones.
