IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Dushanbe: Advancing Cooperation in the IT Sector

On September 6, 2024, the IT Park Uzbekistan team hosted a delegation from IT Park Dushanbe, led by its Director, Temur Khisamutdinov. The primary objective of this meeting was to facilitate an exchange of expertise and strengthen partnership ties to foster the continued development of the IT industry at a regional level.

The IT Park Uzbekistan team, led by Deputy Directors Jakhongir Radjabov and Makhliyo Muksinova, provided a detailed presentation on the establishment, growth, and governmental support mechanisms that have been pivotal to the technopark’s success. The discussion particularly emphasized the various benefits and incentives extended to IT Park Uzbekistan’s member companies, which offer new opportunities for business scaling and entry into international markets.

The Tajik delegation was introduced to several key initiatives, including the "Zero Risk," "Local2Global," and "Softlanding" programs. These initiatives provide significant support from both the government and IT Park Uzbekistan, thereby facilitating the integration of IT-enabled services (ITes) companies into the Uzbek market.

Moreover, the representatives from IT Park Dushanbe studied Uzbekistan’s experience in cultivating a startup ecosystem. They were presented with the effective acceleration, mentorship, and financing mechanisms that support the sustainable growth of young enterprises.

A crucial aspect of the discussions centered on the "One Million Uzbek Coders" project, which has played a vital role in enhancing IT education within Uzbekistan, thereby preparing a qualified pool of IT professionals for the global market. Participants underscored the importance of broadening access to educational programs; currently, thanks to the active involvement of IT Park Uzbekistan in workforce development, over 7,000 young talents have been successfully employed by its member companies across various regions.

The next step in advancing cooperation will be the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will lay the groundwork for long-term collaboration between the two technoparks. IT Park Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to providing comprehensive support to its counterparts in Dushanbe, offering expertise and guidance to bolster the IT industry in Tajikistan.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to deepen collaboration and strengthen partnerships aimed at the joint development of the IT sector in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. This initiative will enhance Central Asia's capacity in the IT and outsourcing sectors, creating favorable conditions for the region's overall growth and prosperity.
