"IT-Talk: Startups 2020" took place in Tashkent

[January 31, 2020] Inha University in Tashkent, in partnership with IT Park, hosted the first event titled “Startups 2020”, within the scale of IT-Talk events series that promise to become a platform for discussing ongoing issues related to the IT field in 2020. The event is organized in compliance with the President announcement the current year as  “The Year of the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy”.

The first "IT-Talk" has been devoted to startup pitches that also highlighted a student development fair at Inha University. Ulugbek Muhammadiev, First Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bahromjon Olmatov, Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications, and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, IT Park Innovation Director, made a speech at the IT-Talk opening ceremony.

As Ulugbek Muhammadiev, First Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, had noted: “The development of the information technologies field directly depends on the quality of education for our youth, because they are our future. We will strive to arrange more events for them whre they will have chance to communicate with skilled IT-specialists and adopt knowledge and experience from them.”

The event program made of two sessions those were held in parallel. In the first, performances of domestic entrepreneurs and influencers in the IT sphere had taken place. In that session the following people made their speeches: founder and head of Office Market and Dekos Hassan Mamasaidov, founder and CEO of Newmax Technologies (MyTaxi, Express24 brands, etc.) Akmal Payziev, trainer of the One Million Uzbek Coders project, IT manager Park Dilmurad Nasibullaev, SAP Uzbekistan representative Alisher Isaev.

They had shared their stories of becoming in business, talked about the successes and failures of their own projects in the IT segment, and also reported on new trends in the IT field.

The second session was dedicated to Pitch Day, where over 20 teams out of 169, who applied for the second wave of IT Park incubation and acceleration programs, presented their unique startup projects.

Besides, as the Director of Innovation IT Park Abdulahad Kuchkarov stated: “IT Park is preparing an online incubator for those talented people who, for some reason, cannot be in IT Park. “By now, the entire content part is ready, which will be in Uzbek and Russian.” Therefore, in close future each person, regardless of their location, will have a chance to obtain the necessary knowledge to create their own IT-product.
