KOICA is to allocate a grant for IT Park development

[November 11, 2019] IT Park hosted a meeting with the delegation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to discuss grant allocation for IT Park development as part of the Techno parks evolving program.


CEO of IT Park Farkhod Ibragimov, representatives of the Ministry of Small and Medium Business and Startups of Korea, the Association for the Promotion of Technology Parks of Korea (KTPA), Gyeongbuk Korea Technology Park, the Institute of Science and Technology Policy of Korea (STEPI) and representatives of IT Park have attended the meeting.

The main purpose of the visit was to support the IT sector of Uzbekistan by allocating a grant for the evolvement of IT Park to improve its infrastructure, educational IT programs, and the material and technical facilitation.


Plus, benefits of residency in IT Park, the IT Academy, incubation and acceleration programs, international projects and contests, the IT Park Venture Fund have been discussed in the meeting. The guests paid special attention to the potential of Uzbekistan in the field of IT, noting important changes in a positive direction.


These efforts in the future should bear fruit in the form of IT education for young people, which will lead to the emergence of large start-up companies that would have a chance to become the first "unicorns" in Central Asia, as well as the development of the whole Republic of Uzbekistan as an IT center in Central Asia.
