On February 22, 2020, an adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for economic sectors development, implementation of investment and foreign trade policies, Ravshan Gulyamov, and First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Umarov paid their visit to IT Park.
A range of key issues have been discussed at the meeting on the prospects of IT Park, problematic issues for achieving effective organization results and proposals related to their solution.
In particular, the IT Park residency related topic was noted, through which today only IT software companies in can go via CCEA. It was proposed to make additions related to the part of companies that export complex solutions, as well as admission of residents upon business plans in order to increase and strengthen IT companies in Uzbekistan.
Plus, IT Park
incubation and acceleration programs also turned to be topical, where novice
entrepreneurs can not only gain the necessary knowledge, create prototypes and
introduce them to the market, but also participate in state competitions to
attract grants for the expanding and scaling of their products. In cooperation
with government agencies proposed to increase the number of competitions and
hackathons targeted to digitalize state data and improve the service of the
institutions to create the necessary digital amenities for the population.
Also, the meeting highlighted out the future plans of IT Park. As it is known, the IT Academy under IT Park is the main doer of the One million Uzbek Coders project, with the help of over 10 thousand users have already acquired basic IT related skills. A concept following which the best graduates of the online platform will be able to get free internships at the leading IT companies in Uzbekistan and later find a job is being currently developed.
In sum, further tasks were identified for the dynamic and comprehensive development of information technologies in Uzbekistan, by following of monthly meetings will be arranged with the IT Park Directorate and its residents.
