Participants of the Forum “Uzbekistan-Korea: cooperation in the field of e-government and digital economy” visited IT Park

On this year’s November 26, under the leadership of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security, the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of the Republic of Korea with the participation of IT Park, the forum “Uzbekistan-Korea:  Cooperation in the development of e-government and digital economy “.

The forum was held to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of digital government between experts from Uzbekistan and Korea, as well as to get acquainted with the results of cooperation in the implementation of projects in this area.

The main participants of the event were the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov, Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov, head of the expert group on e-government and digital economy Uzbekistan-Korea Ko Taek-Jin, head of the Department of Computer Science of Chungbuk National University Nasridinov Aziz and other ones.

During the forum, issues of the development of artificial intelligence, raising the position of the electronic government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UN rating, the effective operation of IT Centers and the creation of an integrated strategic plan for further actions were raised.  In particular, a delegation from the Republic of Korea made a presentation on the progress of work on cooperation in this area.

After the end of the forum, the head of the group of experts Lee Jin-Hoon, the first secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan Ho In-Soo, senior consultants An Hee-Chul and Lee Jong-Kyung, as well as the head of the e-government project of Uzbekistan-Korea Ko Taek-Jin visited  IT Park, where specialists got acquainted with the activities of the organization and ongoing innovative projects.

During the visit, the importance of the ongoing reforms in the field of information and communication technologies, the need to train qualified specialists was emphasized, and the possibility of attracting Korean IT companies to open their offices in Uzbekistan was discussed.  The entry of Korean enterprises into the Uzbek market will provide talented youth with additional employment opportunities.

At the end of the negotiations, a tour of the construction sites of the IT Park complex was held for the representatives of the Korean delegation.
