[November 13, 2019] A round table discussion was held at Inha University in Tashkent, where the prospects of cooperation in the field of IT development in order to create a full-scale IT ecosystem and the expansion of networking in Uzbekistan were particularly under topic.
The Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Sadikov, First Deputy Minister Olimjon Umarov, IT Park CEO Farhod Ibragimov, acting Rector of Inha University in Tashkent, Muzaffar Jalalov, as well as the heads of Huawei, KT, UZBEKTELECOM, UMS, UCELL, BELINE, ZTE, RWC and others have joined the meeting.
As the Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Sadikov noted: “To date, reconstruction and overhaul work of the first IT Park building with a total area of 2800 sq.m., which hosts resident companies with over 300 specialists, as well as the first 15 start-up initiatives in the field of e-commerce, artificial intelligence, IT education, financial and medical technologies to participate in acceleration and incubation programs have been completed.”
“IT Park is a newly created enterprise responsible for the development of the IT sector in the country, including IT education and attracting investment in the IT sector. The IT Park complex is expected to concentrate not only the entire IT community of the country, but also the entire Central Asia. It is planned to attract the best experts in the development of IT infrastructure to create a high-tech complex that meets the international level” - said Farkhod Ibragimov, CEO of IT Park.
Following the meeting, parties agreed to maintain dynamic cooperation in the IT field and expand partnerships in the field of IT infrastructure.
