The Global COP Program course has been completed

The International Telecommunication Union, jointly with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park, has successfully completed the course “Creating a safe and prosperous cyberspace for children”.

There is a lack of formal Child Online Protection (COP) tools, resources and educational programs around the world.

However, to effectively protect and empower children online, all relevant stakeholders (parents, teachers, children, the ICT industry and governments) need to have the awareness, knowledge and skills to effectively promote child online protection.

In order to reduce the risks of threats to children online, it is necessary to provide them with digital skills and knowledge of online safety so that they can effectively protect themselves, as well as competently respond in various situations.

To this end, the course “Creating a safe and prosperous cyberspace for children” aimed at improving the studentsʼ skills of behavior in the information society was launched.

The purpose of the program implementation is to improve the competence of teachers in the field of ensuring the safety of the behavior of minors in the digital educational environment in the learning process, in extracurricular activities, with the free use of modern digital technologies.

The course was conducted in Uzbek and in an accessible format for people with special needs. More than 300 teacher-trainers were trained as a result of full-time trainings, who, in turn, will teach their colleagues, parents and children the knowledge gained during the course.
