On April 6, the International Round Table “Inclusive digitalization and BPO in Uzbekistan” will take place. The event will be organized by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications, the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan, IT Park Uzbekistan and the World Bank.
The session will focus on two key topics: digital development in Uzbekistan (current progress and next steps) and the introduction of business process outsourcing (BPO).
The event has the following goals:
– Take stock of Uzbekistan's achievements in digital development over the past few years;
– Discuss how well Uzbekistan has drafted privacy laws and monitors violations when companies enter the BPO market;
– Explore opportunities to expand the ambitious implementation of the BPO market in Uzbekistan;
– Provide a platform for the development of individual policy recommendations for the government and development partners aimed at strengthening and accelerating inclusive digital transformation using international best practices, etc.
The event is planned to be held in a hybrid form: an online video conference via the Zoom platform and offline.
The roundtable will feature opening remarks from the government of Uzbekistan, UNDP and the World Bank, as well as 2 moderated sessions with keynote presentations from the government and international experts, followed by discussions, questions and answers, and a summary of key points.
The event will be attended by representatives of:
● Government bodies responsible for planning, controlling and implementing digital development;
● International community (JAG UN, multilateral organizations, international financial institutions, individual embassies, development agencies, etc.);
● Think tanks, NGO and consulting firms specializing in digital governance, PAR;
● Selected experts and subject matter experts;
● Mass media, famous bloggers;
● Private sector;
● Youth and youth organizations.
Speakers from IT Park Uzbekistan will be:
● Bohodir Ayupov, Deputy Director of IT Park Uzbekistan (Business process outsourcing in Uzbekistan: impact and consequences);
● Business Process Advisor Govindaswamy Jayaram Naidu Parthasarthy (with the topic “Digitalization and BPO: a perspective from India”);
● Also, 3 IT Park resident-companies engaged in business process outsourcing will tell about their experience.
